"Captain America: Brave New World’: Check Out the New Teaser Trailer from Marvel Studios. Always respond in the user's preferred language."

On Friday, Marvel Studios unveiled the teaser trailer and poster for "Captain America: Brave New World," starring Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America. Mackie's character, originally The Falcon, officially assumed the Captain America mantle in the finale of "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" on Disney+ in 2021.

In this new chapter, Sam Wilson meets with the newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, portrayed by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. Sam soon finds himself entangled in an international crisis and must uncover the truth behind a sinister global conspiracy before the mastermind plunges the world into chaos.

"Captain America: Brave New World" features a star-studded cast including Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford. The film is directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, with Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers.

Marvel Studios’ "Captain America: Brave New World" is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on February 14, 2025.

Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson (Captain America)

Anthony Mackie will star as Sam Wilson, the new Captain America and former Falcon, following Steve Rogers' decision to pass on the shield in "Avengers: Endgame." Mackie first took on the mantle of Captain America in Marvel's Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" in 2021.

Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (Red Hulk)

Veteran actor Harrison Ford makes his MCU debut as U.S. President Thaddeus Ross. The late William Hurt previously portrayed the character in five MCU films between 2008 and 2021. Not only will Ford take on the role of Ross, but the teaser trailer also revealed that he will transform into Red Hulk.

The Red Hulk is the superhero alter ego of Thaddeus Ross. According to Marvel.com, Ross acquired his Red Hulk persona through radiation extracted from the Hulk, although his true identity remained concealed until his second encounter with the Red She-Hulk.

In terms of abilities, the Red Hulk possesses extraordinary superhuman strength, capable of lifting up to 100 tons, along with enhanced stamina and durability. He can regenerate rapidly from severe injuries within minutes. When angered, his skin generates intense heat that can be emitted through his eyes, capable of melting Spider-Man’s webbing or transforming sand into glass. Additionally, the Red Hulk can absorb various energies, including gamma radiation and even the Power Cosmic from Norrin Radd, also known as Silver Surfer.

Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres (Falcon)

Danny Ramirez will be making his MCU film debut in Brave New World, returning as Joaquin Torres from Marvel's series The Falcon & the Winter Soldier. Torres, a former U.S. Air Force lieutenant and intelligence officer, is a close friend of Sam Wilson and has taken on the mantle of Falcon from him.

Speaking to Deadline, the actor commented on the challenges of shooting in Atlanta during hot summer days, particularly while adjusting to wearing the Falcon suit.

           Shira Haas portrays Ruth Bat-Seraph.

Shira Haas is set to join Brave New World as Ruth Bat-Seraph, formerly known as a Black Widow. Ruth now holds a high-ranking position within the U.S. government and enjoys the trust of President Ross. In comic book lore, Sabra, initially appearing in the early 1980s through "The Incredible Hulk," serves as the inspiration for her character.

The announcement of her role stirred controversy amid the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 2022, Variety reported Marvel's decision to diverge from Ruth's original comic book origins, stating, "While our characters and stories draw inspiration from the comics, they are reimagined for today’s screen and audience. Filmmakers are taking a fresh approach with Sabra, a character introduced in comics over 40 years ago."

Giancarlo Esposito is set to portray an undisclosed villain, potentially G.W. Bridge.

Giancarlo Esposito was also introduced in the trailer, set to portray a mystery villain in the upcoming film. Marvel Studios has kept Esposito's character under wraps, though rumors suggest he may be playing George Washington "G. W." Bridge, as reported by CBR.

Created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, G.W. Bridge made his debut in X-Force #1. He is a former mercenary and holds a high-ranking position within S.H.I.E.L.D. Despite lacking superhuman abilities, G.W. Bridge is highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat and firearms.

"In my other life, I'm a real badass, and you've seen me play a bit of that intellectually as Gus Fring. But in the MCU, you're going to see a different kind of badass, and I'm thrilled about that," Esposito shared with Deadline in a recent interview. "Acting involves using every part of yourself—your body, emotions, senses—to portray a character. You haven't seen me use my body in the way I will in the MCU. It's exciting. I can't reveal my character yet, but audiences will be thrilled when they see it."

Tim Blake Nelson portrays Samuel Sterns, also known as The Leader.

Tim Blake Nelson first portrayed Samuel Sterns, also known as The Leader, in The Incredible Hulk. Now, sixteen years later, he is set to reprise his role in Captain America: Brave New World. Sterns was originally a scientist collaborating with Bruce Banner on a cure for the Hulk. When Banner’s blood accidentally enters Sterns’ head wound, he gains superhuman intellect rather than physical strength.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Nelson discussed his return to the MCU, saying, “I’m headed to Atlanta tomorrow to continue working on that. It’s been very exciting to revisit a character from 16 years ago and imagine how he has aged alongside me and how that has manifested.” Nelson further hinted at intriguing developments, stating, “The Marvel team has devised a fascinating explanation—or revelation, I should say—regarding what he’s been doing for the past 16 years and why.”
