Artem Chigvintsev, a dancer from 'Dancing with the Stars,' has been arrested on a charge of domestic violence.

 

A dancer known for performing with celebrity guests on “Dancing with the Stars” was arrested in Northern California on Thursday on a domestic violence charge, according to a spokesperson for the Napa County sheriff's office.

Artem Chigvintsev, who has participated in 12 seasons of the show, was taken into custody in Yountville following a 911 call made around 10 a.m. that reported domestic violence, stated Officer Henry Wofford.

Chigvintsev has been booked on a felony domestic violence charge, with his bond set at $25,000, Wofford added.

Chigvintsev was released on Thursday afternoon, according to online jail records.

His booking does not indicate that he has been formally charged. The Napa County District Attorney’s Office will determine any charges in this matter, as stated by Wofford.

A representative from the district attorney's office mentioned on Thursday that they have not yet received the case and will review it once it arrives.

It remains unclear whether Chigvintsev has an attorney available to comment on his behalf.

Information regarding the victim, their relationship, and the specific location of the arrest has not been disclosed due to privacy concerns, according to Wofford.
