Google Doodle Celebrates Paralympics Wheelchair Tennis with Captivating Artwork

Google Doodle Today: Celebrating Wheelchair Tennis at the Paralympics, featuring two birds playing the sport in wheelchairs within a beautiful Parisian garden.

**Wheelchair Tennis Paralympics 2024 Google Doodle:** As the Paris Paralympics 2024 continues to captivate sports fans around the globe, Google celebrated the wheelchair tennis event on Tuesday with a delightful doodle featuring animated birds.

The doodle depicts two birds competing in wheelchair tennis set against the beautiful backdrop of the Jardin du Palais Royal or Jardin des Tuileries. "Ace attitudes and stellar serves. Wheelchair Tennis starts today at Stade Roland-Garros!" the search engine noted on its official Google Doodles page.

The wheelchair tennis events of the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris began on August 30 and will conclude on September 7 at the renowned clay courts of Roland Garros Stadium. The tournament includes singles and doubles matches for men, women, and quads categories.

On Sunday, Alfie Hewett (Great Britain), Martin De La Puente (Spain), Todiko Oda (Japan), and Gustavo Fernandez (Argentina) advanced to the last 16, showcasing a variety of match profiles. Wheelchair tennis, first introduced at the Barcelona Paralympic Games in 1992, is featured at all four Grand Slam tournaments. The International Tennis Federation Wheelchair Tennis Tour currently hosts over 150 events, as noted on the official website.

The sport categorizes athletes into two classes:
- **Open Class:** For athletes with permanent impairment of one or both legs but with normal arm function.
- **Quad Class:** For athletes with additional limitations in their playing arm, affecting their ability to handle the racquet and manage the wheelchair.
- **Open Class:** Designed for athletes with permanent impairments in one or both legs while maintaining normal arm function.
- **Quad Class:** Intended for athletes who have additional limitations in their playing arm, which restricts their ability to handle the racquet and maneuver the wheelchair.
