France defeated Portugal 5-3 on penalties in the UEFA Euro 2024 match.


France secured a 5-3 victory over Portugal on penalties during the second quarterfinal of UEFA Euro 2024. The match, held at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany, saw Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe both starting, yet neither team managed to score in regulation time. 


Portugal advanced to the quarterfinals after finishing second in Group F behind Turkey and defeating Slovenia in the round of 16. Meanwhile, France, who finished second in their group to Austria, triumphed over Belgium in the previous round.

Earlier in the day, Spain emerged victorious against Germany in the first quarterfinal. Looking ahead, England will face Switzerland and the Netherlands will meet Turkey in upcoming matches on Saturday.
